Beginner’s Guide to Digital Photography Part I— Navigation

So you bought a DSLR camera, now what? This intensive one-day workshop covers the basics of how to navigate your new camera and how to get started on shooting with the manual setting. From ISO to shutter speeds to f-stops, this class will get you shooting in the right direction.

Beginner’s Guide to Digital Photography Part II— Composition

Composing a shot correctly can make the difference between a basic image and an award-winning work of art. Aubrey will go over basic photography composition techniques, how to utilize your shutter speed and f-stop, and methods for capturing the image you want in camera the first time. You will spend some time in the classroom and then head out onto the beautiful grounds of the Hui to practice what you’ve learned and to experiment with composition. This workshop is the second in a series on basic digital photography.

Digital Photography: Macro Workshop

Discover the exciting world of macro photography! By using natural and studio lighting, creating a macro studio, and photographing shells, tropical flowers, food, and other small elements, students in this workshop will learn the basics of macro photography and how to create their own at-home studio. Students will download images into Adobe Lightroom, edit them, and print their favorite 8×10!
Prerequisite: Beginner’s Guide to Digital Photography or equivalent experience.
