Maui Newlywed Photographer - Kathy + Kyle by Aubrey Hord Photography

A few teasers from a newlywed shoot with clients Kathy and Kyle!  The photo session was a wonderful wedding gift from Kyle's brother, Sean.
I love "stolen moments" with couples.
It even got a little steamy! Woo hoo! We love working with couples in love. It makes our job easy.

Congratulations you two and all the best in your future adventures together!

Lara Jade Lighting Workshop comes to Maui

Aren't we lucky! One of London's hottest fashion photographers, Lara Jade, hosted a Lighting Workshop on Maui that was fantastic and filled with amazing imagery to shoot. Here is a peek at what we did over the weekend.
The lovely model Uilani Davis below on Day 1. First image above is of model Brittney Baker.

Lara is a super talented young fashion photographer (only 21yrs old!) with a great head on her shoulders and a wonderfully warm and positive attitude to go with it.
Below is the lovely Lara Jade.

She's amazing with models and has great vision for shoots. She recently moved to the Big Apple of New York City and is getting snapped up for fashion shoots all over the world. We were so fortunate to have a chance to work with her!
Hair (Day 2) was by Ry-n (above in rock star mode on location).
I am honored to have been a part of the two day shoot and workshop with beautiful models, stylists, hair stylists and only a dozen fellow photographers from around the country. It was a small enough group to have constant contact with Lara and to ask questions as well as share information as pros.

Kaanapali Weddings - Ashley + Josh by Aubrey Hord Photography

Ashley and Josh's tropical Maui wedding was held at Ka'anapali Beach Hotel on the Molokai Lawn with a beautiful ocean view and Maui sunset. It was a perfect venue and day for a destination wedding on the island. The bride wore a gorgeous strapless mermaid gown with a white orchid in her hair and some fabulous open toed sequined heels (wow)!

The boys wore matching cream suits with white shirts and slippers (of course!).
The colors Ashley chose were a delicate pale pink and soft cream with rose petals in the aisle.
As the sun set and the moon rose over the West Maui Mountains, the couple shared their first dance with the palms swaying above and the moon up in the night sky. Thanks to the hotel staff, coordinator Madie Rabago and the photography team with me for the evening, Sasha and AnnaMarie!

We took off on an adventure a couple days later with the couple down to Makena Cove on Maui on the south side of the island for a little romance. We had beautiful weather and picture perfect conditions for shooting with the black lava and the blue water. Thanks to AnnaMarie for assisting on this one. She did some 4-wheeling to help me get great shots!

The two were good sports and tried the juice from a fresh Maui coconut to see if they liked it. Ummmm,  judging from the photo not so much!

The rings along with the the couple's favorite bible passage. Looks like a marriage full of fun and romance! Congratulations and best wishes to Ashley and Josh!

Thank you so much for inviting Aubrey Hord Photography to be a part of your day! We were honored!

Serenity by the Sea - Brooke + Stan's Maui Wedding by Aubrey Hord Photography

Congratulations to Brooke and Stan on their beautiful Maui wedding at the spectacular Serenity by the Sea luxury estate in Launiupoko yesterday. The Colorado couple exchanged vows with Reverend Pia Alului on the grounds of the private estate overlooking the Pacific ocean with the spectacular West Maui mountains behind them.
We even brought a vintage VW van out to the wedding site (thanks to AnnaMarie!) to surprise the couple and it fit perfectly with Stan's sharp looking black suit.

We raced down the hill after our formal shots and caught the tail end of the romantic Maui sunset.
The estate is just incredible with 360 degree views of the ocean and the West Maui mountains and it provides a photographer with any number of places to shoot and angles to capture. We had fun with the fisheye lens as you can see!

I think Brooke was the the calmest and most elegant brides I have ever met even though she said she was totally nervous.  She was stunning in her corset gown with buttons running down the train and a beaded bodice.
The couple loves wine and decided to combine their two favorite red wines during the ceremony to celebrate their nuptials.
As Brooke was getting ready in the large ocean view bridal suite, Stan was busy uncorking the wines to let them breathe before the intimate ceremony.

One of the most hilarious parts of the evening for me was to see Brooke and Stan's family carrying off the chairs from the wedding ceremony site back up to the house as we were finishing up photos on the property.
It was like they were breaking down the set all around us. I just had to take a photo (above).
So congratulations Brooke and Stan on a totally fun Maui wedding with more photos to come after your  special Rock the Frock session this week!

Thank you so much for inviting me to capture your Maui wedding!
